Let's Play
In this story, Federico goes to the market to buy ingredients to make pico de gallo. Work with an adult to write a list of things you might purchase from the grocery store to make your favorite recipe.
Pre-kindergarteners are not expected to write entire words. They can practice handwriting by writing the first letter in each word in the list. You can extend this activity by guiding your child to identify which letter each word starts with. For example, say, “We need eggs to make cookies. Listen to the word eh-ggs. What sound do you hear at the beginning of the word?”
